Bruer was formed in 2013 by Andy Clark and Gabe Herz and is based in Santa Cruz, California. Our focus is on the process of making coffee, and the ritual behind it. In September of 2013 we launched our first product Cold Bruer a simple and transparent way to make slow drip cold brew coffee at home. Our transformative brewer uses slow-drip methodology instead of the more common full immersion method to produce a clean, velvety cold brew that highlights the natural sweetness and differentiated flavor characteristics of beans. Cold Bruer produces a less acidic and less bitter cup of coffee than traditional hot brewing methods by using cold water to extract the coffee slowly. Cold Bruer was launched via a very successful Kickstarter campaign raising over 600% of our funding goal.
